Towards Text-Based Machine Translation

چکیده
The increasing use of world wide networking facilities for international information exchange and service provision demands for specific applications of machine translation (MT) tools which are beyond their traditional tasks. The new areas of application of MT will have to be centered around various human-to-human communication media taking into account the different cultures inherent in natural language. Thus, MT has to aim for cross-cultural communication when being used as an information and service provider between different natural languages on the information super-highways. Most of the information electronically exchanged or accessed deals with a specialized vocabulary (terminology). In this paper we will argue for terminology-based MT and discuss the various knowledge sources, which will also ensure an appropriate basis for text-based MT. We have restricted our work to the domain of telecommunications, in particular that of satellite communication.

A new model for persian multi-part words edition based on statistical machine translation
Multi-part words in English language are hyphenated and hyphen is used to separate different parts. Persian language consists of multi-part words as well. Based on Persian morphology, half-space character is needed to separate parts of multi-part words where in many cases people incorrectly use space character instead of half-space character. This common incorrectly use of space leads to some s...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of English-Persian Translation of Neural Google Translation
Many studies abroad have focused on neural machine translation and almost all concluded that this method was much closer to humanistic translation than machine translation. Therefore, this paper aimed at investigating whether neural machine translation was more acceptable in English-Persian translation in comparison with machine translation. Hence, two types of text were chosen to be translated...
متن کاملMachine Translation Approaches and Survey for Indian Languages
The term Machine Translation is a standard name for computerized systems responsible for the production of translations from one natural language into another with or without human assistance. It is a sub-field of computational linguistics that investigates the use of computer software to translate text or speech from one natural language to another. Many attempts are being made all over the wo...
متن کاملSentence Generation by Analogy: Towards the Construction of A Quasi-parallel Corpus for Chinese-Japanese
Parallel corpora are indispensable resources in datadriven approaches to machine translation: statistical and example-based. The major problem inherent in developing a Chinese-Japanese machine translation system is the lack of bilingual parallel corpus. We have implemented several based on proportional analogy techniques to produce new quasi-parallel sentences using monolingual data, collected ...
متن کاملThe Implementation of the Example-Based Machine Translation Technique for German-to-Polish Automatic Translation System
High-quality machine translation between human languages has for a long time been an unattainable dream for many computer scientists involved in this fascinating and interdisciplinary field of the application of computers. The developed quite recently example-based machine translation technique seems to be a serious alternative to the existing automatic translation techniques. In the paper the ...
متن کاملA Richly Annotated, Multilingual Parallel Corpus for Hybrid Machine Translation
In recent years, machine translation (MT) research has focused on investigating how hybrid machine translation as well as system combination approaches can be designed so that the resulting hybrid translations show an improvement over the individual “component” translations. As a first step towards achieving this objective we have developed a parallel corpus with source text and the correspondi...
